Flat caps, flappers and flags were the order of the day at Goslings Pre-School on Friday, when youngsters donned 1920s fashion to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday.
As events took place throughout the country to mark Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s landmark birthday, three and four-year-olds at the Ely pre-school got out the bunting and enjoyed a Royal tea party outside, serenaded by music from that era.
Pre-School manager Michelle Smith said: “We had a couple of Prince Charmings.
“They had a picnic with cucumber sandwiches and party food. Luckily the weather was good.”
Children and staff wore either 1920s garb or came in party clothes.
“They’ve been learning about the Queen’s birthday for a while. They’ve played with a castle and made cards for the Queen with their best writing inside.”
