MOT Tester

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced MOT Tester to join our automotive team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests in line with DVSA standards, ensuring vehicles meet road safety and environmental standards. This is a key role within our garage/workshop, requiring technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards.
Accurately complete MOT documentation and update DVSA systems.
Identify and advise on any repairs or maintenance needed post-inspection.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding their vehicle’s condition and any necessary work.
Support the workshop team with mechanical repairs and servicing when required.
Keep up to date with MOT training and changes in legislation.
Requirements:
Valid MOT Tester Licence (Authorised Examiner Designated Tester Status – AEDM/NT).
Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
Full UK driving licence.
Proven experience in vehicle inspection, diagnosis, and repair.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with diagnostic tools and vehicle systems.
Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles.
Basic IT skills for updating digital records.

Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm, Saturday 8am-12noon
