Lucille’s Roller Skating Challenge for ACT

Lucille Burke has set herself a challenge to roller skate around Little Thetford 100 times in 50 days to raise money for Addenbrookes charitable trust.

The charity is very close to her heart as her mum works in Addenbrookes Hospital and has worked throughout lockdown. She is so proud of her and would like to give something back.

Lucille, a member of Cambridgeshire Artistic Roller Skating Club, has found quite a challenging route around the village and each lap is around 1.3 miles which means once Lucille has completed her 100 laps she would have skated roughly 130 miles!!!

Lucille has raised just over £300 for this amazing charity. Her coaches from CARSC joined her for three laps on day nine.

Rachel, CARSC Coach, said the route Lucille is doing is difficult, it’s not all smooth so it’s hard on your legs. We enjoyed our social distanced laps with Lucille and we are so proud of her for setting such a big challenge for an amazing charity!
