Another week where Ely Tigers were forced into changes as they travelled to top of the league Bury IIs.
With 30 minutes on the clock, and with the game even as neither side could find the break, with the home side found themselves behind as Ricky Neale went over the try line, conversion added, Tigers lead 7-0, from a Ely line out Tigers scored their second try of the afternoon, as Tigers move the ball from right to left, John Surbey fed Jordan Barnes who crossed the try line, the conversion fell short,
Tigers looked to be going into the break with a lead, but the home side struck back almost straight away, as from the restart. Bury go over the line under the posts, with conversion added, with Ely on the attack in the Bury half, an intercepted pass inside their half was picked off as the Bury players raced three quarters of the pitch to score under the posts, with the conversion added, the half time whistle was blown as the home side lead 14-12
Second half, and another break away try by the home side with Ely inside the 5 meter line the ball was lost and Bury broke to score, again the conversion was added as the winning gap grew, the final try came as a mirror of the others, as Ely were caught again allowing the home side to break away to score their fourth try of the afternoon, as the final score finished 28-12.
Ely drop to 10th in the league, as they play 4th place Shelford this coming Saturday
