Medieval Day at Ely Museum

Join the Bonivant Household at Ely Museum 16th – 17th October 2021

Ely Museum is delighted to welcome the medieval Bonivant Household to Ely Museum for a fantastic living history weekend from the 16th to the 17th October.

Over the weekend, you’ll meet the reenactors and learn about their lives at home, at work and at battle.  With displays of medieval food, clothing and medicine, alongside wood and metal work and armour and weaponry, there is lots to see and do for all ages.

During this special living history weekend, whether you’re learning about medieval medicine with Lady Bonivant and Lady Vowell, finding out more about medieval weaponry and armour with Sir Roger Bonivant or hearing the story of Agincourt with Marc, the village elder who fought there – there is something for all to enjoy!

Keep your eyes peeled at lunchtime on Saturday too as the Bonviant’s parade into town from the museum – a sight not to be missed!

Emily Allen, Community Engagement Officer at Ely Museum, said, “We’re excited to be welcoming the Bonivant Household back to Ely Museum for a fantastic living history weekend – these events truly bring history to life, so please do drop in over the weekend and travel back in time to a medieval world!”

Join the Bonivant’s at the museum between 11-4pm on Saturday and from 12-4 on Sunday. There is no need to pre-book, just pop in to enjoy the fun. Normal admission prices apply and annual pass holders get in free!
