New district leisure centre planning application submitted

Further progress on delivering the new district leisure centre was made this week with the submission of the reserved matters planning application.
The scheme has been granted outline planning permission under the hybrid planning application for the cinema, but the plans have to go through the Reserved Matters process to agree the design and layout of the site.
The tender processes to procure an operator to run the new district leisure centre and a contractor to build it are also underway.
The new centre will provide:
· 8 lane 25m swimming pool
· learner pool with moveable floor
· 120 station gym
· 2 dance studios
· 4 court sports hall
· 3G all weather pitch
