The property next door to the Townhouse, in the city centre, has been leased to an independent sustainably focused start-up who have taken the keys and already begun work on getting it ready to launch in mid June.
68 Market Street will be running a seasonally focused and locally sourced menu devised by local award winning and renowned Chef, Stuart Tuck and we can expect a wonderful array of beautiful plates and a quick changing menu with something new to look forward to each time you visit. Ensuring that their produce suppliers are local independents where possible, is also part of this exciting new venture’s beliefs and supporting local is key to what they’re about.
68 Market Street are aiming to not only hold their own in regards to the food and drinks they serve but also in all aspects of their business practice – from their energy being carbon neutral to their waste being lifted by local heroes Ellgia.
The interior refit is being undertaken by a small group of people who hold reuse and repurpose as their core values – and any furniture which is not being made bespoke for the building has been sourced from the wonderful Emmaus for instance, along with plates and glassware.
The venue, when opened will also play host to guest chefs – serving their own menus too, and have spoken with local community artists about using the place for all sorts of ideas. So this is set to be an exciting and inclusive space.
With a launch date set for mid June and lots to say about their journey getting ready to open the beautiful door for trade we recommend you take a look at their social media profiles 68marketstreet on Facebook and 68_market on Instagram and Twitter to keep up to date with where they’re at as they go along.
