Lauren Phillips has been appointed as the new Principal at Littleport and East Cambs Academy, part of The Active Learning Trust.
Lauren, who will be taking up her new position in March 2022, will be joining the team at Littleport and East Cambs Academy with a wealth of experience in the education sector.
Lauren has seventeen years of teaching experience, working in schools across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. This includes five months serving as an Interim Head of School at Barclay Academy, Stevenage, and Vice Principal at Milton Keynes Academy.
Lauren holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and has just been awarded the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).
Speaking on the new appointment, CEO of The Active Learning Trust, Stephen Chamberlain, said: “We are delighted that Lauren will be joining Littleport and East Cambs Academy as the new Principal, where her leadership skills and expertise will be highly beneficial to students and the wider community.
“Lauren has an outstanding track record of growing and developing schools and being engaged in the whole school community. The enthusiasm and passion Lauren has shown for delivering a high-quality education and learning opportunities to young people is inspiring, and we believe she will be extremely well placed in leading the school on its continual growth journey.
“We wish Lauren the best of luck upon starting her new role and greatly look forward to working alongside her and seeing how this appointment will build on the school’s existing strengths and successes.”
Alongside her teaching career, Lauren has a range of interests which include singing with several different choirs. In the past, Lauren has also sung with the Philharmonia Chorus in London and has performed in major venues across Europe.
Lauren will replace Colin Taylor, the current interim Principal at the school.
Stephen added: “A big thank you to Colin Taylor who is doing a fantastic job. Colin’s relentless commitment and professionalism ensure that each and every one of our pupils has a safe, engaging and creative education.”
Lauren will be visiting the academy throughout this school term and is looking forward to getting to know the community in preparation for the start of her new headship in the spring.
