The packed house at the Maltings were treated to a show stomping performance of ‘Sister Act, the Musical’ by the CAT Theatre Company.
The already sold out show featured all the characters from the blockbuster film. With an adapted for stage script and musical score, each of the amateur actors have clearly put every ounce of heart and soul into very high energy 2 1/2 hour performance.
Director Becky Green told us after the dress rehearsal, “I am so proud of everyone who is taking part and helping, this is an incredible show”.
Delores was played by Lisa Brown, a CAT veteran and clearly not afraid to take one big parts and by her side was Amy Roberts playing Sister Mary Robert, the quiet and shy nun who becomes the big voice of the show.
Mother Superior was played magnificently by Fiona Jacobs alongside the Monsignor, Peter Crussell.
Thug Boss – Adam Hobbard along with sidekicks played by Jack Cutting, Jake Newton and Adam Hutchings who are eventually busted by Eddie Souther by Darren Mather.
All the cast and crew, too many to mention backed by live band was just phenomenal.
Viv Aggett takes the accolade for playing the hilarious Sister Mary Lazarus and the solo of the night is for Sister Mary Robert (Amy Roberts).
With 2 nights left to go at The Maltings, we don’t want to give any spoilers but overall we give the whole night 5 stars for every performer.
