An overturned lorry brought caused major gridlocks on the A142 near Mepal yesterday morning.
The 32 tonne flat bed lorry overturned after the driver suffered an unrelated medical emergency shortly after 10am.
The driver was taken via ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and did not suffer major injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The Volvo HGV was towing straw and a contraflow had to be set up that caused noticeable delays.
Policing East Cambridgeshire’s roads policing unit have thanked members of the public for their patience while the situation was resolved.
