OWL Bikes delivers training to adults with a learning disability who want to progress onto employment or volunteering opportunities, in Cambridgeshire. We do this through supporting retail, customer service and bicycle maintenance skills in our shop and workshop.
Papworth Trust social enterprise OWL Bikes have started running pop-up shops around the county where they can repair and sell bicycles in the community. This means they can support more trainees (when COVID restrictions allow) by them assisting at the pop-up shops.
From 15th April OWL bikes will be at Ely Market and will be there weekly on Thursdays.
Staff at OWL Bikes are taking safety precautions in line with government guidance, including; one customer allowed in the market stall at a time with a queuing system only accepting card payments and customers must wear masks at all times.
Dan Eaton, Service Manager in Cambridgeshire said “We’re really pleased to be doing these pop up shops, and expanding our offer across Cambridgeshire. We also want to give our trainees retail experience in differing locations and settings when COVID restrictions allow”.
