Ely Arts Festival is on the look-out for local people who love drawing, have a passion for photography or are potty about painting to take part in the Picture Ely Art Challenge.
#PictureEly is a free event taking place on Sunday 19th June, 10am to 3pm at Ely Market Square. The brief is to sketch, paint or photograph the city of Ely. To take part in the challenge you can be a complete beginner, an experienced artist, or anything in between.
Local artist Amy Wormald will be on hand throughout the day to offer advice, as well as running drop-in art activities for all ages to enjoy.
“If you want to take on the challenge then bring along your favourite art supplies, or if you don’t have any materials we have some packs to give away” says Amy Wormald.
“Start the challenge by visiting the Ely Arts Festival stand on Ely Market, collect your #PictureEly sticker and then it’s time to get drawing, painting or photographing! When you’ve finished your creation, simply share an image on any social media channel using the hashtag #PictureEly. Alternatively, you can bring your work back to the festival stand to be photographed and uploaded on your behalf.”
All creations submitted on the day will become part of an online gallery. Follow the hashtag #PictureEly on social media to see what’s happening and share your images.
