Hockney is one of the most popular and influential artists of the twentieth century. This curated show features etchings for Grimm’s Fairy Tales from the late sixties, he loved both the elements of magic in the tales and the stories, these fairy tale illustrations show an extraordinary range of imagery.
This show will also include etchings for fourteen poems from C P Cavafy, again created in the 60’s. They were immediately acclaimed by contemporary commentators, Edward Lucie – Smith described them as not only the best work I have seen by the artist but probably the finest prints produced in England since the war.
Prices for the works will range from £500 up to several thousand. It’s a fantastic opportunity own an original Hockney work many of which are limited editions and we’re hoping to welcome hundreds of visitors to this exhibition. For more information see our website www.babylonarts.org.uk’
