A popular path closed to the public for the past two summers has now re-opened in Ely.
Last week Anglian Water finished its work to fix a sunken path connecting West Fen Road with Cam Drive and the new Ely Leisure Village.
Since June, the green space, popular with walkers, joggers, cyclists and dog walkers, has been largely closed to the public while Anglian Water repaired a severely sagging path.
Part of the park, linking Mallow Close and Downham Road, had remained open, as well as the new underpass to Ely Cineworld and surrounding eateries.
During the summer of 2016, most of the open space was closed to the public so that sewers could be put in for the new Ely Leisure Village.
After most of the initial work was completed, a new path was laid out across parts of the park – but some of it had severely subsided, posing a risk to passers-by.
The park is now completely accessible once again.
The park borders Columbine Road, Teasel Drive, Mallow Close, Downham Road and West Fen Road.
