An Ely primary school is fundraising for a lifesaving defibrillator – and is looking for residents and companies to donate prizes towards its annual summer fair.
Friends of the Lantern School, the Lantern Community School’s fundraising committee, is hosting the Lantern Summer Fete on June 25.
Its members hope proceeds will help raise cash for the emergency device, which sends electric shocks to the heart and can help save lives during cardiac arrest and other critical medical conditions.
The school, which is signed up to the Forest Schools scheme, is also saving for an outdoor classroom that would be used for numerous activities.
FOTLs is looking for prizes aimed at children and adults to go in a raffle and tombola, as well as any financial donations and contributions.
The fundraising committee also has stalls available for craftspeople and businesses to hire on the day, at a cost of £10 per stall.
Activities planned throughout the afternoon include a bouncy castle, zorbing balls, an obstacle course, glitter tattoos, refreshments and a barbecue, games and performances from the Lane Academy dance school.
All proceeds go towards the Lantern Community Primary School.
The fete will take place from 12pm to 3pm on the school grounds in Nene Road, Ely.
