Many people were out in force on Sunday 13th November to pay their respects at the Remembrance Sunday event in Ely and Ely City WI were honoured to be invited, once again, to participate in the parade.
Our ladies paid tribute to those who gave for our today with a wreath that was laid at the Memorial with the message “In remembrance of all those women who served, suffered and gave so much for this nation in conflicts over time – Ely City WI”.
Many thanks to President Sheila, Vice President Ruth and Member Marilyn who represented Ely City WI on the day.
This year was particularly special as it is the 100th year anniversary of the War Memorial being unveiled.
