September is Macmillan month for Ely

macmillanFollowing the last visit of the Macmillan Bus to Ely, the free informational centre is due to revisit Ely on 12th September at 10am on the cities Market Place. For updated information visit the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1526281770939954/
If you’re living with cancer it can be hard to talk about your condition, or predict when you will need some information. And partners, family members and friends need support too. Even if you aren’t personally affected, you may just have a question or worry that you want to drop in and ask someone about.
Our mobile information centre is big green vehicle with a warm and welcoming space inside, and a more private room for a chat if needed. It’s staffed by our knowledgeable and caring Information and Support Specialists.
We let people affected by cancer know that they are not alone, and offer them the support or information they need, no matter how great or small. Many people wouldn’t seek out help if they hadn’t seen us on their local high street, at work or at an event.
We also offer high quality information on reducing your risk, signs and symptoms, specific types of cancer, support groups and assistance with money worries if you are living with the disease.
And don’t worry if you don’t have time to talk. We also carry more than 400 information leaflets or factsheets that you can take away, and can let you know about local services and groups that you or your loved ones might find useful.
Other events are being organised including one from Kara Webb,

macmillanMy friend and I will be taking part in the Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support. It will take place on Friday 26th September, 11am-1pm in the meeting room at Ely Library. Everyone welcome. We are holding a raffle and if you or someone you may know think they can donate a prize to our raffle could you please get in touch. (Prizes so far include a magnum of wine, free coffee vouchers, Cambridge restaurant vouchers, photoshoot plus many more) Also if you are a face painter, balloon modeler or anything really, and are willing to give your time to our coffee morning for free and donate some of your profit to Macmillan, could you also contact me. And finally if you would like to help us by baking something delicious for our coffee morning we would be incredibly grateful.

If you can help with any of the above can you email me at karajayne2002@gmail.com or visit our event page https://www.facebook.com/events/959487910743997.
