Sewage work at a popular Ely green space, closed to the public throughout the summer, is due to be completed this week.
A spokeswoman for Anglian Water told Spotted in Ely: “The new sewer has been installed and we’re carrying out the final works this week.
“Our works will be completed by Friday.
“We’d like to thank residents for bearing with us whilst these works were completed and we are sorry for any disruption it may have caused.”
Further works are being carried out in the area by other contractors.
The park, popular with dog walkers, cyclists and joggers, has been closed to the public since June while Anglian Water laid down a new sewer pipe to take flows from a new development to an existing pumping station.
The company had set up a site compound and office within the park area next to the Downham Road entrance.
The area that was shut off included the green space between Downham Road and West Fen Road, bordering Mallow Close, Teasel Drive and Columbine Road.
About a fortnight before the work started, Anglian Water sent out 425 letters to local residents, informing them about the project.
