The Soham Benevolent association, organisers of Soham Carnival, are looking forward to bringing you their 70th Great Family Fun Day on Sunday 30th April 2023 at the Recreation Ground in Soham.
From 9am until 1pm in the main arena is the renowned heavy horse show.
The parade of floats commences from 1.00pm from Holmes lane in Soham, travelling through the town then onto the recreation ground for Judging.
Confirmed as the main event, from 2.45 pm is Dangerous Steve. It’s a non-stop, thrill-a-minute with Dangerous Steve’s Fire and Chainsaw Juggling, Giant Unicycle, Ladder Balancing and Blindfold Motorcycle Riding in a hilarious and dynamic act full of sensational stunts. Audience participation, knockout comedy, crazy balancing and a thrilling fire-juggling finale.
On the Skatepark Stan Hickish from RASE, and friends, will be demonstrating their Skateboard and Scooter skills from 12.30-4.30. They will be holding workshops at certain times of the day, so bring your skateboard along if you want to have a go, you must get a consent form signed by a parent if you are under 16.
Performing on the music stage are The Offbeats bringing their upbeat sound of Ska, reggae and soul, The Anecdotes, Freefall band, Stevie, Tzarina, The RBL band competition winner, and DJ Greedy G.
On the small arena are Vouge Athletics, Kuk Sool Won will be demonstrating their skills. KD theatre school will be offering free workshops through out the afternoon, teaching singing and performance skills. Soham Comrades band will be playing outside the Pavilion from 11.00am โ 12.30pm
Other attractions include: Townsperson of the year, King and Queen Consort and Prince and Princess winners, Bar, Stalls, funfair, Raptor foundation, inflatables, bygones, Food and trade stalls, local organisations, BBQ, ACF Marching band plus much, much more.
ALL STALLS are now sold out but there is still time to ENTER A PARADE FLOAT- Whether you are a School, Pub, Club, Band or an Organisation, get involved and enter a float at this yearโs carnival. There is prize money to be won!
VOTE FOR THE SOHAM TOWNSPERSON OF THE YEAR: please look out for the boxes that will be displayed in local shops and fill out the form to vote. You can also send us a message on Facebook or email with the person you think should win and what they do for the community of Soham.
Our main beneficiary this year is Soham and Ely Food bank- All other money raised is distributed to local charities , organisations, schools and clubs.
NO DOGS are allowed on the recreation ground except assistance dogs and disabled parking only.
