Soham Carnival is Back This Weekend!

The Soham Benevolent association, organisers of Soham Carnival are looking forward to bringing you their great family fun day this Sunday 1st May 2022. 

From 9am until 1pm in the main arena is the infamous heavy horse show.

The parade of floats commences from 1.00pm from Holmes lane in Soham, travelling through the town then onto the recreation ground for Judging. We have at least six floats and the Prince and Princess and their attendants will be in the parade.

Prince winner is: Otis Hillier. His attendant is: Harry Corbett

Princess winner is: Christina Verducci. Her attendant is: Lucy Ann Lee. they will be in the parade 1.00pm onwards from Holmes lane.

The Towns Person of the year was won by Cliff Loveday. He was voted for his outstanding contribution for teaching people of all levels to learn to ride a bike.

He runs Learn2Ride sessions in his free time with access to St. Andrew’s Primary School Playground which allows him to offer this service in a safe environment to over 2200 children during last 3 years. Please do consider donating to his latest fundraiser as all the money raised will be split between St. Andrew’s Primary School and Ely Baby Bank based in Fordham

Confirmed as the main event, is Team MAD. Ben Savage and his team of professional BMX riders  will be bringing their live displays of tricks and stunts with audience participation. You can also meet and greet with the Team and get signed posters.

On the Small arena, in the morning 10.00am – 10.45am come and have free yoga taster session, with Natasha Goldson. In the afternoon, Kuk Sool Won, Vouge Athletic and The Crystallite Majorettes will be demonstrating their skills.

From 12.30 on the Live music stage you can see performances from Little band in the corner, Michael Anthony, Akimbo, KD Theatre and headlining this year are Max Headroom. The day ends with a live DJ set from Seb Howe- AKA Greedy G.

We are introducing a new Motorcycle show, why not bring your Bike along and display it for the day – Motorcycles must be on site by 12pm. 

Other attractions include Soham Comrades band, Bar, Stalls, Funfair, Raptor Foundation, inflatables,  bygones, organisations, BBQ and other food plus much, much more.

Our main beneficiaries this year are  St Andrews Soham Church restoration fund and Soham Ross Peers sports centre roof appeal. All other money raised is distributed to local charities, organisations, schools and clubs.
