There were many shiny, happy faces at The Lantern School in Ely this year, when hundreds of people attended its annual Summer Fete.
Despite forecasts of torrential rain, the sun shone throughout, creating a carnival atmosphere. There was a huge variety of entertainment on tap, from zorbing and bouncy castles to face painting, craft and plant stalls, games, resfreshments, a raffle and tombola. Youngsters had the chance to look inside a fire engine and watch fabulous displays by the Lane Academy dance troupe.
There was also a stall run by Goslings Pre-School, the pre-school linked to The Lantern.
The Summer Fete is organised by Friends of the Lantern School and is one of the primary school’s main fundraising events of the year.
