Ely’s High Street Passage took on a carnival atmosphere as local businesses gathered to celebrate its first ever street party.
Organiser Annabel Reddick, of Burrows Bookshop, said about eight local businesses were involved in organising the High Street Passage Summer Party – a free event for the whole family to enjoy.
“It’s just to bring a few people together and have some fun. We thought it would be nice to celebrate summer and local businesses.”
Entertainment included live music, face painting, a magic show by Sammy Magic Magic and story telling, with special offers available inside the shops taking part.
Youngsters were invited to come dressed as their favourite children’s book characters to be in with a chance of winning a “booktastic” prize.
