Tesco Foodbank IS still there

Since showing the video earlier this week showing information on the Ely Foodbank, lots of you have contacted Spotted in Ely about Tesco and their missing Foodbank bin.
Well, we are pleased to report that the Foodbank bin is still there and always has been but just re-homed within in the store temporarily.
Ian Westwood, deputy manager for Tesco Ely told us, “The bin used to be located at the front of the store by the entrance but sadly customers were helping themselves to the contents or using it as a bin.
“So until a more suitable place, near the customer service desk is available, the bin will be situated at the end of the self-service checkouts. It has been there for a few weeks now and we still welcome customers wishing to help the Foodbank.
“We expect to move it to its new more prominent home within the next few weeks.”
