The new Youth of Ely Hub on Barton Road is yet to open officially but Tesco have already shown their support for the local initiative by donating a TV and promise to help further in the future as the project grows.
Spotted in Ely contacted Ian Westwood, deputy manager of the Ely store, to inform him of the new project and more importantly the scale of the long term project and immediately Mr Westwood wanted his store and staff to get involved.
He has even offered some of his workforce to take part in helping to renovate the large building on Barton Road known as the Centre E building.
Councillor Griffin-Singh hopes to revive a little of the old style youth club mixed with modern day functionality where local youth will have a place to relax, learn and enjoy not just a couple of hours a week but all day every day.
