The Queen’s Special Jubilee Band Show

The time is fast approaching to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations that will be held in Ely and surrounding areas in June, and music will be featured in many for its nostalgia and inspiration.

The St. Andrews Parish Church of Isleham is arranging a spectacular programme of just that at The Beeches Community Centre on Saturday June 4th at 7pm, where the popular Opus 17 orchestra will be playing  music specifically selected to remind us all – both old enough to remember, and younger people who regard it as history!

Of the time our Monarch enlisted into the army as a humble driver/mechanic in 1945, then through to 1947 when she married her beloved Prince Philip, and to her becoming Queen in 1952, with her coronation in 1953.  All events covering the height of the Big Band era.

Tickets are available from the local “box office” at 01638 780827 in Isleham for £17 each, and can be purchased either with cash/cheque or BACS bank transfer.
