We just received the most exciting e-mail at 1094 City of Ely Squadron
“Remembered and Youth United are pleased to announce that you have been successful in your application for 10 There But Not There Silhouettes, fully funded by The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust. We look forward to seeing the installations and Remembrance events you will be holding over November. “
Ely Squadron submitted an application for a grant to ‘There But Not There a charitable foundation’ who’s aim is to commemorate the sacrifice of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of their country.
The competition for this grant of ten Tommy Silhouettes was very stiff with applications from charitable organisations and community groups all over the United Kingdom. As such the cadets at Ely Squadron didn’t expect that they would be so fortunate to win these ten moving tributes to those brave servicemen and women who gave their lives in our defence.
The cadets plan to make the most of these Tommy Silhouettes this November to recognise and remember the fallen and commemorate the end of the First World War in this the year of the RAF’s 100th Anniversary.
