Wandering through the galleries of Ely Museum, you’ll discover a rich history of the Fens, but deep in our stores are many more objects with a story to tell. This is the Cabinet of Curiosities, a temporary exhibition, where we are bringing some of these objects into the light.
Visit the Cabinet of Curiosities to find out more about Vernon Cross, who was inspired by his passion for the arts and his love of curious things to leave money in his will, to support a museum in Ely. This greatly benefitted the Ely Museum you see today.
In addition, you can view some of the more unusual objects that have come out of our museum stores and find out how museum curators choose what to exhibit and how we look after the objects in our care.
