Viva is proud to present Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR!

In April Viva auditioned for Disney’s production of The Little Mermaid JR and we could not believe the turnout and enthusiasm shown by the local community. Since April the cast of 70, aged 7 to 15, have been working hard at rehearsals and show week is now only around the corner. The show has had two director’s involved, Ben Clark and Lee Sherwood, who have both been performing in Viva shows for a number of years and decided it was time to try a hand at directing. Ben says “This whole production has been a journey that I will never forget… I remember having a chat with a member of the cast who was giggling and chatting away to another and I asked “Did you two know each other before The Little Mermaid?” and the response was “No, we just get on really well”. I have never been so proud of a company that brings together two people from completely different backgrounds and towns and forms new friendships that will last a long, long time.”

 
With all of your favourite songs including ‘Under the Sea’ and ‘Part of your world’ as well as all of the well-known characters this is one local performance not to miss. Ariel will be played by Macey Bennett who has been involved in Viva since she was five years old. This is Macey’s first lead role in a Viva show and she cannot wait to get started!
The Little Mermaid will be performed in July from Thursday 14th (7:30pm), Friday 15th (7:30pm), Saturday 16th matinee (2:30pm) and Saturday 16th evening (7:30pm).
