10is Academy Ely head coach, reflects on an overall positive start to the 2022 Winter National league and Winter Cambs League.
In the National League Division 1, the 10 and Under team created chances to push Cambridge LTC’s players to the limit but Cambridge had arguably the most experienced team and shut the opportunities down. Despite the loss, the performances from the 10is players were exceptional and encouraging for the future.
“We need time to make everyone competitive, but I think overall it’s been a positive start. We’re not exactly where we want to be, but we’re up there in the top division competing against the best players in Cambridgeshire; which is important.”
In the Winter Cambs League, the Men 2 registered a 5-3 win away at Cambridge Tennis Academy.
The Men 2 team is happy with its recent progress.
“Some of our key players have been busy with personal life but we brought a few new faces into the teams” said Scaux. “We are still managing to be competitive and should maintain our position in the leagues – and maybe better.”
The win today is massive, because we didn’t want to register a first defeat in this league. Hopefully points like today will add up and help us get to where we want to be at the end of the campaign.”
