WIBN Ely partners with Ely Food Bank for summer evening of networking and fundraising this August

National networking organisation, the Women in Business Network (WIBN) is planning a Summer Evening Networking event to raise funds for Ely Food Bank at King’s Ely School this August.

The event will take place on Monday 3 August, 18:00-21:00.  The ticketed event is aimed at local businesswomen and will cost £25. Attendees will enjoy a welcome drink, delicious canapés, wine-tasting, a raffle with excellent prizes and a useful tote bag full of goodies to take home.  And that’s not all!  This will also be an opportunity to network, make valuable new business connections and find out what WIBN membership can offer you.

The Women in Business Network (WIBN) was originally founded in 2005 and hosts 100+ groups across the UK.  It provides business networking opportunities in local communities for SME business owners and those who work as professional service providers for small businesses.

The WIBN Ely group is hosted by experienced networker and local businesswoman Jade Raymond of PA Answer.  It started in May 2025 and its growing membership of diverse businesses meets on the third Wednesday of each month at Ely Museum.

Visitors are welcome and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive:

I just wanted to say it was so lovely meeting you at the WIBN Ely group today. Thank you for being so welcoming, it was such a refreshing experience to be part of a supportive and friendly group. I’ve been to a few networking events before, but this one truly stood out for how genuine and encouraging everyone was.I’m already looking forward to the next meeting.’  Trish Fordham, Sweetella Bakes, May 2026

On the Summer Evening Networking event, WIBN Cambridgeshire Associate Amy Wilkes said:

The WIBN Ely group has gone from strength to strength in the last year; this event will offer local businesswomen a fun occasion to get together to celebrate achievements, identify new opportunities and on top of that support an amazing local charity that needs all the help it can get to continue doing all the vital work it does in the area. “

Jessie Byford, Ely Food Bank added:

Ely Foodbank was founded in 2012 to ensure no individual or family goes without food in a time of hardship. Last year we distributed more than 9,000 emergency food parcels, including 3,500 for children, which sadly was an increase on the year before, and demand continues to rise as more households across East Cambridgeshire and Fenland face the pressures of low incomes, rising costs and sudden life events. Events like this one remind us that the business community is part of the support network that helps people through the hardest times, and we are genuinely grateful to WIBN Ely for championing our work. Every penny raised will help keep compassionate, practical help available close to home for everyone who needs it.

#bettertogether”.
