After four years of watching our students arrive at their Prom with umbrellas & dresses with wet trains, we finally got the weather that we had hoped for. Witchford Village College Prom took place on Friday 29th June and was attended by our Year 11 leavers. Students arrived in style and a large crowd had gathered to welcome them. Everyone had made a huge effort to dress-up and throw themselves into the occasion. They all looked amazing.
Once inside students were welcomed to a rose-gold and black themed ball, the College had worked in collaboration with Rose Barn to make the school hall unrecognisable. DJ Charlie knew just how to keep them entertained and got most of them dancing. There was a sweet bar and Mr Mappledoram, Mr Storey and Mr Taylor supplied alcohol-free cocktails all night.
As a departure from the norm, students were able to vote for their Prom King & Queen. Cameron Mayes and Amber Starling took the crowns. Oscar’s went to Josh Taylor (Best Dressed Male), Isabelle Pilling (Best Dressed Female) and Tom Brown (Best Dressed Entrance) Tom arrived driving his own Tractor! The photo booth and props proved to be great entertainment for both students and staff.
Thank you to Lucy Lloyd Photography and all College staff for making the event possible. Thank you to the wider community for supporting our annual event, our students would not be able to make their ‘entrance’ without you. A big thank you to our generous sponsors Alan Richardson Builders, Midway Garage and our wonderful Lead Practitioner for English, Lynne Richardson.
A special mention must go to our Site Staff for the setting-up and taking-down, they were so relieved that they don’t have to dry out the red carpets this week!
