John Bedford, a local farmer, celebrated being a member of the Rotary Club of Ely for fifty years at a lunch at Ely Golf Club for Rotarians, partners and friends.
He gave a very interesting talk about his time in the Rotary Club of Ely and the changes that he has seen. John is still a very active member of the club and works very hard at Aquafest and on the Christmas Collections.
Twice he has been appointed President of the Club in his membership, first in the Rotary year 1979/1980, and again in 1998/1999.
President of Ely Rotary Club, Viv Doji, thanked John for his contribution and the Club gave him an engraved pewter tankard and a framed certificate signed by the President of Rotary International (GB) celebrating John’s achievement.
