East Cambridgeshire Schools’ Art Exhibition 2024 Award Winners Announced

The annual East Cambridgeshire Schools’ Art Exhibition is now open at Babylon Gallery.

On Wednesday 7th February Babylon ARTS held a prize giving ceremony, in which the winners were announced, with prizes awarded that were generously funded by Tindalls Ltd. Ely Hereward Rotary Club and Anglia Ruskin University.

Babylon ARTS is hosting the East Cambridgeshire Schools’ Exhibition for the fifteenth year running, featuring artwork by students from 20 local schools, showcasing the creative talent of children and young people (ages 4-19) in Cambridgeshire. There are 371 artworks on show, in a variety of mediums, including drawings, paintings, textiles, photography, ceramics
and multi-media work.

The schools participating are: Downham Feofees Primary Academy, Ely College, Fordham C. of E. Primary School, Isle of Ely Primary School, Kings Ely, Lantern Community Primary School, Vista Academy, Littleport Community Primary School, Mepal and Witcham Primary School, Millfield Primary School, Rackham C. of E. Primary School (Witchford), Shade Primary School (Soham), Soham Village College, Spring Meadow Infant & Nursery School,
Stretham Primary School, Weatheralls Primary School (Soham), Willburton Church of England Primary School, Witchford Village College, Robert Arkenstall Primary School
(Haddenham), St John’s Primary.

Michael Corley, chief executive of Babylon ARTS, announced the awards at a ceremony held in Babylon Galley. Prizes were awarded for First, Second and Third place in each Key Stage.

Alongside this, a new prize was awarded for the primary and secondary school with the
‘Widest Variety of Materials or Themes’. The winners received gift vouchers for Tindalls art supplies, generously funded by Tindalls Ltd., Ely Hereward Rotary Club and Anglia Ruskin University.

The schools with winners in each Key Stage were Soham Village College, Ely College, King’s Ely, Witchford Village College, Vista Academy, Littleport Community Primary School, Rackham C. of E. Primary School, Shade Primary School, Lantern Community Primary School, Spring Meadow Infant & Nursery School, Fordham C. of E. Primary School and Millfield Primary School.

The prizes for ‘Widest Variety of Materials or Themes’ went to Littleport Community Primary School and Witchford Village College.

East Cambridgeshire Schools’ Art Exhibition 2024 is on from Wednesday 7th February at
Babylon Gallery until Sunday 25th February. Babylon Gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday,
12pm to 4pm with free entry.
