We are delighted to announce that the Elysian Winter Beer Festival is back for its 15th year, and will again be held at the beautiful riverside location of The Maltings, Ship Lane, Ely, CB7 4BB.
The Festival will be open from 11:00 until 22:00 on Friday 7th February and 11:00 until 20:00 on Saturday 8th February. The venue has disabled access. Hot and cold food will be available. The Maltings is a short walk from Ely Railway Station and bus stops at Ely Tesco, Broad Street and Market Street. There is limited free long stay parking in East Cambs District Council car parks at Ship Lane, Forehill and Barton Road, with £4 per day car parks a little further away at The Dock and Angel Drove.
We will be opening with a selection of over 100 beers and ciders! A choice of 75 real ales, 10 craft ales and 16 ciders. Wine, alcohol free beer, and soft drinks will also be available. The ales, including some festival specials, and even one in a wooden cask, have been sourced from breweries in East Anglia and South East England. Winter ales, milds, cask lagers, (with gluten free and vegan options) together with a selection of local ciders will be on offer. We have brewery bars too, from Three Blind Mice, Xtreme, Papworth, Leigh-on-Sea and newcomer, Pixie! There should be something for all tastes.
Entry is open to all aged 18 and over. Children and dogs (except guide dogs) are not permitted for capacity reasons. £20 (cash or card) will get you admission, a festival glass (subject to availability) and £14 worth of beer tokens (Card carrying CAMRA members get £17 beer tokens). Additional tokens can be purchased. Unused tokens and glasses are refundable, or value can be donated to our chosen charities. Admission is free for designated drivers (wristbands issued)
We are also pleased, once again, that some of the Ely’s hostelries are taking part in our “Fringe Festival” selling some different ales to normal. These include Prince Albert, Drayman’s Son, 3@3 and Cutter Inn. We hope you will take time to support them. Beer Festival Co-Organiser Will Smith said we are indebted to CAMRA Branch members & other volunteers who have worked hard to bring you this event. We look forward to welcoming you. We also thank all our kind sponsors incl. the Prince Albert and Le Spice. It’s not too late to offer to help at the festival.
