Ely Markets’ Vegan Fair returns to the High Street on Saturday 29 September.
This popular event is now in its third year and brings together some of the region’s most vibrant and innovative vegan traders and producers. Soak up the atmosphere, try some delicious food and discover more about the health and well-being benefits of a vegan lifestyle.
“Ely has a very strong vegan community,” says Julia Davis of Ely Markets. “We’ve always supported our vegan traders and helped them find a permanent place at all our weekly markets. The Vegan Fair brings together this wonderful network of producers and stallholders in one place. We’re helping them reach a bigger audience than ever before.”
There will be a diverse range of vegan food available on the day. Sample a “Scotch Eggless” from Food by Lizzi for your lunch or try exciting street food from Samu Kitchen and The Wandering Yak. The handmade vegan chocolates by Harrison Chocolatiers and delicious baking from Audrey’s Vegan Cakes will satisfy any cravings for something sweet. The Ely Yoga Studio will also be on hand to offer lifestyle advice and inspiration.
“Ely Markets are now a real destination for vegan food,” says Lizzi Flaherty of Food by Lizzi. “We want to show people that being vegan isn’t about restricting your diet, it’s a compassionate way of thinking that will change your whole life for the better. Everyone’s welcome at the Vegan Fair – old and new vegans, or just the curious.”
“You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this event,” says Audrey Hewerdine of Audrey’s Vegan Cakes. “We want to help non-vegans discover just how delicious this food can be. My vegan cakes are all traditional favourites – and they’re even more delicious than the originals!”
Ely Markets’ Vegan Fair will take place on Saturday 29 September from 9am – 3pm. The Vegan Fair will be on the High Street and the regular Saturday Craft, Food & Vintage Market will take place on the Market Place and Dolphin Lane as usual.
