Ely Outdoor Sports Association has had a Makeover!

With donations from local businesses and the help of volunteers from its three member Clubs – Ely Tigers Rugby Club, Ely City Hockey Club and Ely Tennis Club – Ely Outdoor Sports Association (EOSA) has been given a makeover.
Spearheaded by EOSA Director, James Craven, the bar and social area in the Clubhouse has been recently refurbished.  The rotting wooden windows and fire doors have been replaced by draft free uPVC frames, the bar top is now a lovely solid oak and a new wooden floor has been laid.  With the brown brick walls and brown painted woodwork now painted shades of pale green, the room is both light and inviting.
Jon Evans, Events Manager at EOSA says ‘The bar and social area of the EOSA Clubhouse was desperately in need of a facelift.  Thanks to all those who contributed materials and time, it is now an ideal function room for parties, events, meetings or conferences.  It has a fully licenced and well stocked bar, a small kitchen area, seating (tables and chairs) for 65 people, free to use WiFi, built in projector and screen, stereo and a TV.
The Clubhouse is available to hire on either an hourly basis or for an event with a fully staffed bar.  We can also accommodate large events requiring the outdoor facilities and access to the bar. We can also help with catering, disco and band hiring.’
Based off the Downham Road behind the new Ely Leisure Centre, Ely Outdoor Sports Association (EOSA) is the home of Ely Tigers Rugby Club, Ely City Hockey Club and Ely Tennis Club.  It is a non-profit making limited company and is run by volunteers. It provides sporting and social facilities not only to its member clubs but to the local community as a whole, and the cost of the hire of its facilities goes towards maintaining these facilities.
Established 25 years ago, the facilities at EOSA comprise of three full size rugby pitches, an astro turf pitch and four tennis courts which, as well as the Clubhouse facilities, are all available to hire. There is also ample parking and with the new underpass it is very accessible on foot or bike to Ely City centre.
