This year as part of Harvest Festival at Ely Cathedral, there is a virtual competition for children to decorate a potato at home, ask their parent or adult to take a photograph and then send in the photo electronically.
The Mayor of Ely has agreed to choose a winner from the resulting electronic photo album of entries.
This replaces last years event where children sat together in the Lady Chapel of the Cathedral and drew faces onto the potatoes we supplied.
For fun, it is called “Taterhead Contest 2020” and it is an event running now on Facebook. The competition closes on Monday 12th October.
