Lancaster Way Business Park Car Show and Family Fun Day – 5th September 2026

Grovemere Property Limited and Ely Foodbank came together to deliver the inaugural Lancaster Way Car Show and Family Fun Day on Saturday the 5th of September to raise much needed funds for Ely Foodbank.

The event was a huge success with over 100 classic and modern classic cars displayed alongside motorbikes, super cars, lorries, and emergency vehicles.  A crowd of over 1,000 people supported the event which included an Old-Fashioned Sports Day, Tom Bola, Raffle, Bouncy Castle & Slide, Multiple Food Vendors and the opening of the New RAF Witchford & RAF Mepal Museum to keep the whole family entertained.

The event was made possible by sponsorship donations for Deanta, Thorlabs, Independence, Advanced Aircraft Training, Irvine Knight, Grovemere, RM7, FWD-IP, Cheffins, Platinum Properties, Abbey Security, Cambridge Commodities, Coel, Enhance Dental & DB Broadcast without whom the event would not have been possible.

Seamus Connolly CEO at Ely Foodbank said “This was Ely Foodbank’s first major fundraising event, and we were delighted to partner with Grovemere Property to put on a Classic Car Show and Family Fun Day for the staff and families of the 90+ businesses based at Lancaster Way Business Park. The weather was kind to us, and it was fantastic to see so many people come along and enjoy the 100+ cars on display, food vendors, bouncy castles and our classic old-school sports day.

As a small local charity, we were genuinely overwhelmed by the support we received from businesses across the park and from all the staff and families who joined us on the day. We can’t thank Grovemere and Harvey Bibby, Development Director, enough for getting behind the event and helping us make it happen. A huge amount of work went into organising the day, and Jessie Byford, Fundraising Office, did an amazing job bringing everything together. Most importantly, it was just great fun!

We hope this is only the beginning of an exciting relationship between Ely Foodbank and the brilliant community of businesses at Lancaster Way Business Park, and we’re already looking forward to what we can do together next.”

Harvey Bibby Said “We are thrilled the event was so well received and that we could support Ely Foodbank, I understand that the event raised almost £11,000 which is a phenomenal amount of money and equates to 8,900 meals for families experiencing hardship in our community.  Well, done everyone involved especially Jessie who is the only person I know that has hosted a Car show for her birthday!”
