‘An Evening Remembering Hereward’
An Evening Remembering Hereward commemorates the folk hero of the Fens Hereward the Wake with a stellar line-up of Arts Crafts History and Heritage.
From the embroidering skills of Seamstress Mia Hansson where her Bayeux Tapestry replica will be on display to the songs and ballads on the lyre by The Dark Bardess, the talented Gemma Parker we furnish the scene with medieval flavour.
Actor Rory Gibson has really begun to make a good name for himself in the role as Hereward, and this eveing he will be regaling tales of his exploits and his actions on Aldreth Causeway. On History matters Dr James Pearce will present a talk on ‘An Anglo-Saxon Exile’ while David Maile hosts the evening building the Hereward story through the years while looking again at William’s attempts to gain access onto the Isle of Ely and his subsequent victory over the rebels.
Come join us Friday 27th October for an entertaining and informative evening remembering Hereward.
