In this workshop Jane will take you on a brief tour of our museum gallery, encouraging you to notice the various shapes, patterns and copious use of feathers in our collection of stained glass, old and new.
Using this as a starting point, you will learn how to ink up your gel plate in various colours and to the correct consistency to pull a successful print. Once this base layer is achieved, feathers and rock salt will be applied to the gel plate and a second print pulled. This will reveal the delicate forms and textures of the feathers. Further layers may be added to achieve your final design. You will have an opportunity to make your finished designs into greetings cards and prints to take home.
Feathers and salt will be supplied but please feel free to bring various feathers of your own in many sizes and textures.
