On Tuesday 5 August, the Isle Singers – a small group of talented female vocalists – entertained the Haddenham Lunch Club with a selection of popular vintage songs, including It’s a Wonderful World, Love Changes Everything, As Time Goes By, And All That Jazz, You’ll Never Walk Alone, and The Lord Bless You and Keep You.
Celebrating 49 years of singing together, the Isle Singers are looking forward to their 50th anniversary later this year. Over the decades, they have performed in a variety of venues, from Trinity College to Ely Railway Station at Christmas in support of the NSPCC.
While members have changed through the years, the group continues to perform beautiful two- and three-part harmonies. They rehearse weekly and enjoy bringing music to audiences across the area, most recently providing the music for an Evening of Music and Poetry at St Andrew’s Church.
