What’s even better than cake? Cake that raises cash to help cancer patients.
Spotted in Ely’s second ever Macmillan Coffee Morning today has so far raised over £150.
Hosted at Ely’s new Market Street Brasserie, the charity fundraiser featured cupcakes, brownies and other sweet treats made by friends, supporters and members of Spotted in Ely.
Leftover cakes were handed into Ely Police Station to be shared around the staff.
Spotted in Ely would like to thank everyone involved in today’s event, particularly Market Street Brasserie, who were so generous with their premises and time.
We were particularly touched by the generosity of those who provided delicious home baked goodies and by people who declined cake but still donated cash to Macmillan.
All of the money made today will go towards helping Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer – The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Throughout the country people host their own Coffee Mornings, with all donations going to Macmillan.
Last year alone the charity raised £25 million from Coffee Mornings.
Statistically one in three people across the UK will face cancer, and the money raised at these fundraisers help Macmillan ensure that no one has to face it alone.
