A brand new IT facility, known as The Hub, opened at Witchford Village College this week.
The school is currently undergoing an exciting refurbishment project. There are new maths classrooms, a practice music room and refurbished toilets.
Over the summer work started on replacing windows and flat roofs with the main hall receiving a much-needed redecoration.
Since returning from the summer break, there is a new purpose-made Library for the college. It is hoped that this will be opened as a community library in the near future. The space allows for quiet reading with a good selection of fiction and non-fiction books.
Moving the Library has given the school the capacity for a brand new IT Hub, kitted out with 66 PC’s in two distinct areas.
This increases the much needed IT facilities at the college and will future-proof the school moving forward. The area includes a chill-out and collaborative space for students to share their ideas and pupils have been very excited about the new modern space.
Mr Fran Difranco, Chief Operating Officer of the Morris Education Trust, which WVC is part of, officially opened The Hub ahead of the college’s annual Open Evening.
