From Maxine I wrote a poem back in September that, upon reflection, I think is very relevant today. Just a way to say thank you to all our veterans for giving us tomorrow. I hope you like it. What Tomorrow Brings Tomorrow brings hope of unfulfilled dreams Of walking through valleys and paddling through streams. Adventure aplenty, excitement galore A whole host of mysteries yet to explore. Tomorrow brings love and good times to share Random acts of kindness to show that you care. Spending times with loved ones, a special treat Long conversations with folk you’re yet to meet. Tomorrow brings challenges, some great and some small Unwritten scenarios we knew nothing of at all. The script is unknown, full of joy love and grief The challenge surmountable if we just have belief. Tomorrow brings seasons and memories to treasure Sharing our lives with others, the ultimate pleasure. Unsprung flowers will bloom and grow A flurry of seasons bringing rain, shine and snow. Tomorrow brings thanks for the lives that we live Appreciation for each other, the ones that really give. A world of wonder, an untold mystery A host of feelings that will turn into history. Tomorrow brings holidays, hard work and gain Some days so appealing, others filled with pain. Snuggly chats in coffee shops, acceptance and rejection A multitude of emotions all leading to reflection. Most importantly of all, tomorrow brings hope Of a life filled with happiness and an ability to cope. Relish every moment, savour every treat When tomorrow is gone may your life feel complete.
