Jake Scott-Paul of Ely based branding company Soopa Doopa, along with friend George Marsden, are set to undertake Spartans “Super” Obstacle Race in July this year, with the aim of raising awareness and funds for Mind Mental Health Charity.
The race boasts twenty five gruelling obstacles over 10k and is a real test of both physical and mental strength – a perfect challenge for raising money for what is such an important charity, now more than ever.
Jake said “the damage done to people’s mental well being over the last 15 months, as a result the prolonged periods in lockdown, will see a real surge in the demand for services provided by the likes of Mind. Having suffered with various mental health issues over the years, I know just how damaging recent events and social isolation will have been, to those with pre existing conditions and those who have never experienced issues before. During this last lockdown, it was exercise that kept me going.
While we are doing this for a bit of fun, we felt it was a great opportunity to raise awareness around mental health, an area that affects so many people. The more we can get people talking about what’s going on inside, the better everyone will be”.
With just under 3 months to go, the pair have raised over £2,322 for this great cause and we would like to thank each and every donor.
