Witchford Under 12 Girls – League Winners

Girl’s football is really starting to explode with more teams being started up in multiple ages groups.

Witchford Under 12s girls have won the league playing football the right way, in a positive environment, and we have had other league managers message congratulating the girls as, “the best team in the league that play football with a smile on their face and a positive attitude”.

Overall, coaches Jamie Mott and Craig Finbow are just incredibly proud of the girls for their hard work, team spirit, and amazing football attitude towards learning and bettering themselves. It’s fitting this season has ended with a trophy!

They clinched the title by winning 1-0 at home against 3rd place Netherton, with a goal with 15 seconds remaining, to top the U12B league with 2 games left to play. A superb year in their first season of competitive football, having only played friendlies before reaching this age group.

They have won every home game so far, only losing 2 league games all season and have not lost since before Christmas.

Its an amazing achievement from the girls, having scored 48 league goals and only conceded 13. Their defence has been an amazing foundation but Hattie Ashton has lead the attack as top scorer with 34 goals in 19 games.

Congratulations girls, keep it up.
