On last week’s Scout Troop camp, the brave youngsters from the Fenland Scout Group got to climb up and abseil from the top of the Highest abseiling tower in Norfolk. The Group spent the weekend at Roughton Old Mill, home to First Rural Scouts, near Cromer. Assistant Scout Leader Sam Batten-Brown was “thrilled with everyone’s enthusiasm and their attitude to the adventure.” The Group camped all weekend in the grounds of the Old Mill and “Our Group were reassured to hear the Rural group had raised an amazing £227,000 to secure the Mill as their new HQ, and it’s given us new hope and ideas to push forward our own campaign to rebuild our condemned home in Sutton Gault” states Scout Leader Stacey Mayes.
The mild weather was perfect for a hike to the beach where the Scouts enjoyed seaside fish and chips and an ice-cream!
