A10 Closed after 2 lorry accident this morning

AccidentAt the A10 near Littleport at approximately 0910 am, officers had cause to attend this collision between a milk wagon and a (much larger) curtain sided lorry.
The drivers of both vehicles are ok – the driver of the milk wagon suffered a slight injury.
The driver of the milk wagon has been reported for the offence of driving without due care, with recommendation that he might attend a driver improvement scheme.

The result of the accident involved a large spillage of dairy goods and the Highways Agency attend to prevent it from entering the local water course.
We have been told that polution from milk deoxygenates the local water (we all learn new things every day).
PC Jamie Brown, attending the incident said
“It was necessary to close the road briefly to ensure that the scene was properly managed. Thankfully nobody suffered serious injury. An accident of this nature does tend to underline the importance of stopping distances, travelling speed, and clear and undivided attention on the road.”
