Christmas Charity Music Day at the Minster Tavern

Christmas Charity Music Day at the Minster Tavern, Ely. Curated by Barstool Angels, in aid of Bloodwise.

On Sunday 25th November the Minster Tavern will be hosting its annual Christmas charity music day. This annual tradition features a gathering of local musicians to entertain the population and start the main run up to Christmas in the pub. Anything goes in terms of the set content, covers or original material as long as every act includes a Christmas classic. This year the event is organised by Barstool Angels, local acoustic rock duo, with a bill of guests including Tennessee Twin, Katie Macer, The Lost Hobos, Jessica Davis, Jacen Bruce and many more.

The charity this year is Bloodwise, the Blood Cancer charity, picked by Tom from Barstool Angels. This is a cause very close to Tom, in memory of his Mum who passed away from Leukaemia in 2012 at only 60.

Blood Cancer is the 5th most commonly diagnosed form in the UK, and the 3rd biggest cancer killer. Research is improving survival rates, and in some forms of blood cancer rates have improved dramatically over the last 50 years, particularly in acute childhood leukaemia, but blood cancer still kills more people every year than prostate or breast cancer. More research should help, the ambition of Bloodwise is to beat all blood cancers.

All are welcome at the Minster whilst the collected musicians serenade you, entrance is free and all we ask in return is that you give generously into our collection buckets. The entertainment starts at 3pm and goes on until late.
