Ely City Hockey Club were celebrating as Xenia Marshall who, as part of their League winning Ladies 2s team, was proclaimed the top goal scorer in the whole of the East League last season!
Xenia scored 39 goals out of the 118 scored by the Ladies 2s last season, scoring in every match but one and including 7 hat-tricks. An absolutely fantastic achievement and she is only 14 years old!
Gemma Neal, Captain of the Ladies 2s commented ‘To score so many goals and so many brilliant goals, and to be awarded top goal scorer for the entire East in her first season playing ladies hockey is incredible.
The team and I are extremely proud of Xenia and we have been exceptionally lucky to have had her playing for the Ladies 2nd team.
Having gained promotion next season will see a new challenge of us and for Xenia, but I have no doubt that she will enjoy the challenge and continue to be a top goal scorer!’
